We are searching for a highly motivated and capable individual to join our Water Department. The position of Water Operator assists in the operation and maintenance of the distribution system, treatment plants and wells for the City of Angola. The candidate must possess outstanding communication skills, a problem-solver mentality and a self-motivator who can work effectively and efficiently without supervision as well as work successfully with other team members.

Key Responsibilities:
• Understand and operate the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) distribution control system software which monitors and controls our water plants, system processes and functions
• Install, replace/repair water service laterals, water main lines
• Install, repair, and read meters
• Perform system locates and water sampling requirements
• Execute service orders to customers, as directed by the Clerk's office and/or the Water Superintendent
Requirements:
• High School diploma or High School Equivalency or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• Acceptable background and driving record and pass drug screen
• Hold current IDEM Class WT3 and DSM Certifications or must obtain these within 3 years from date of hire. (For those applicants without current certification, certification study classes are held in the evenings in Ft. Wayne for a period of 16 weeks and must be attended prior to sitting for the testing).
Pay Range: Operator (without IDEM Certifications) $19.99 - 26.65/per hour.
IDEM Certified Operator $22.29 - 29. 72/per hour.
Starting rate is based upon applicable experience and certifications.
