Job Posting- Wastewater Operator

Description:

The City is looking to hire a full time operator for the Wastewater Department.  This candidate should possess a strong work ethic, be mechanically inclined, and detail oriented.  This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of the City’s wastewater treatment plant and sanitary sewer system.  Candidates must recognize that their job performance directly influences the City’s compliance with the state National Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.

Qualifications:

• Wastewater experience, preferably an IDEM Class III Wastewater Operator Certification or the ability to achieve certification.
• Specialized training in any field of engineering, electrical, plumbing, or hydraulics and/or a college degree is desired.
• Valid Indiana driver’s license with good driving record. 
• Valid CDL license or the ability to obtain within six months of hire date.
• The ability to work and communicate effectively with team members, other organizations and the general public to form successful working relationships.

Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday 7AM to 4PM with emergency call in, weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule.
