Alliance Scholarship Program

Each year, the Alliance of Indiana Rural Water Association recognizes outstanding students through its scholarship program. The Alliance puts on a Clay Shoot & Golf Outing for the Scholarship Program to raise these funds. From the 2023 events, nearly $8,000 was raised, thanks to the generous Scholarship Clay Shoot & Golf Outing sponsors and participants. Last year, the Alliance awarded four deserving individuals a $2,000 scholarship for their secondary education endeavors starting in Fall 2024. These individuals are pictured below.

With the success of the 2024 Scholarship Clay Shoot & Golf Outing, the Alliance raised nearly $15,000. This increase in scholarship funding allows AIRW the ability to award an additional $2,000 scholarship for 2025. In total, five - $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to eligible applicants.  Additional scholarship funding will go toward scholarships for water or wastewater apprentices.

*Recipients must be dependents of an Alliance voting member, which are small and large water and wastewater utilities located throughout the state of Indiana. Eligible applicants must be a citizen or legal resident of the United States, a resident of the state of Indiana, and a dependent child of a voting member system employee. They must also have graduated high school within the last year and be a first-year secondary education enrollee. Scholarship awards are presented during the AIRW Spring Conference in French Lick each year.
